Mary’s Sustainable Solutions provides clients with sustainable design solutions through varying trends. Trends come and go, but Mary Titus will ensure that your space and/or function will be “in-style” with contemporary trends while representing your style and taste.
Mary Titus uses her education and experience to create design solutions for clients who want to be current with each passing year but want to maintain their identity and traditions of their community.
The main aim of this company is to adhere to the principles of Sustainable Design by designing objects (i.e. décor, furnishings, artwork); or new developments to a built environment; as well as providing services to comply with the values of economic, social, and ecological sustainability.
The definition of the term "sustainable" in design terms is as follows: "the condition of being able to meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the needs of future generations." -quoted from the Interior Design Reference Manual, Author, David Kent Ballast. Sustainable Design is also referred to as "green building," or "green design". It is becoming a core principle of interior design. It is concerned with the environmental impact of designs through building; use of interior and exterior materials; alternative resources; reuse and recycling of materials; energy sources; etc. We have to be conscious of the materials we are using and their affect on the environment.
Therefore, Mary's Sustainable Solutions will design for YOU and YOUR taste, while complying with the principles of sustainable or "green" design. Mary will aid you in the design process through guidance, input, and solutions. Mary’s Sustainable Solutions is qualified by education, experience, and examination to enhance the function and quality of interior spaces.
Mary's Biography:
Art and design have had a strong influence on Mary Titus, in all respects of her life. Studying art prior to university, she was accepted to Ryerson University’s, School of Interior Design, in Toronto, Ontario. The course was referred to as “interior architecture” as students learned every aspect of the design process from creating spaces to meet building code standards, through working drawings and showing the finishes through artistic and professional renderings. Mary graduated in the Fall of 2004 with a Bachelor of Interior Design and has worked in various sectors of the design industry post graduation.
Since moving to the Kawarthas, she recently created her own business to bring her skills and education to the community. She offers, “step by step help for your personal or business needs”. She aids clients in helping them to create design concepts for their home or business; undertakes the “grunt work” that clients do not have time for, such as field research (visiting stores, trades people, etc.); helps them visualize concepts for their home or business, as well as promote businesses, through her perspectives (realistic three-dimensional drawings) and graphic art work…. AND MUCH MORE! Her degree program enabled her to not only design concepts but fabricate them, i.e. sculpture, perspectives, models, furniture, etc. Furthermore, she will tailor and update the designs of a home or business to the specific tastes of her clients.
She will use her education, experience, and taste to aid you in the design process, creating design solutions that are specifically tailored for YOU, the client. |
